Job summary

Porter Airlines Inc. is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to support the line maintenance team on a range of regular and ad-hoc initiatives, including coordinating return to service of aircraft during AOG events and hands-on support.

You will monitor workforce levels, ensure compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations, supervise maintenance staff, review RAAS-based records, and lead safety and quality within the SMS framework.

Qualifications

  • Possess a Transport Canada AME license, M2, E or S.
  • Endorsed, via approved course, on the aircraft type under supervision.
  • Have at least 5 years maintenance experience with an Air Carrier or AMO.
  • Must understand Canadian Aviation Regulations for duties.
  • Must be knowledgeable on Porter RAAS software.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor workforce levels and adjust for workload as required.
  • Ensure deferred aircraft defects are handled per policies.
  • Ensure standards of work are carried out by supervised personnel.
  • Review computer-based records for vehicle inspections, M.A.R. tracking and Pre-Flight Checklists.
  • Coordinate and supervise inspection and rectification of defects and maintenance/modification of aircraft.
  • Ensure maintenance records are completed per policy.
  • Provide equipment, facilities and training to maintenance personnel under supervision.
  • Oversee timekeeping, overtime approvals and labor reporting.
  • Lead health and safety inspections for all work areas.
  • Lead ACA role as needed.
  • Participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Support the line maintenance team on a wide range of regular and ad-hoc initiatives, including coordinating the return to service of aircraft during AOG events and actual hands‑on support.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor workforce levels and adjust for workload as required.
  • Ensure that all deferred aircraft defects are handled in accordance with current company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that recognized standards of work are carried out by personnel under their supervision.
  • Review computer based records for vehicle inspections, Maintenance Alert tracking and Pre-Flight Checklists.
  • Coordinate and supervise the inspection and rectification of defects and the maintenance, repair, modification, overhaul and alteration of all aircraft and aircraft functions.
  • Ensure that maintenance records are completed according to company policy.
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel under their supervision have the necessary equipment, facilities and training required to properly accomplish their duties in support of maintenance activities on aircraft and aeronautical products.
  • Responsible for timekeeping, overtime approvals and labor detail reporting on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Responsible for health and safety inspections for all work areas, including vehicles, controlled by the company.
  • Will assume the role of the Lead, ACA as the need arises.
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
  • Other duties as assigned.
