Job summary

AltaML is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to build AI-powered applications across cloud services, APIs, and modern front-end frameworks. You will operate in a pod, shipping features end-to-end, reviewing AI-generated code, and collaborating with AI agents in the workflow.

You will work with Claude Code, Claude API, and Azure OpenAI, designing robust software, writing tests, and contributing to internal frameworks to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of professional full stack development experience shipping production features.
• Hands-on experience using Claude (Claude Code, claude.ai, or Claude API) for software work.
• Strong cloud experience, ideally Azure (Functions, App Service, Blob Storage, Azure OpenAI).
• Proficiency in a modern OO language (C#, Python, TypeScript) with clean code discipline.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Solid front-end experience with React, Vue, or Angular; TypeScript skills.
• Experience writing unit and API tests (xUnit, Pytest, Postman).
• Docker for local development and containerized deployments; Git in a branch-based workflow.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to discuss technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end features across front-end, back-end, and cloud layers with ownership from design to deployment.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and cloud-hosted services, primarily on Azure, following standards.
• Develop front-end components using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks with emphasis on usability and performance.
• Write unit, integration, and API tests as part of delivery; use appropriate testing frameworks.
• Use Docker for local development and ensure environment parity; manage code with Git and clean commits.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, data engineers, and product managers within the pod to ship features.
• Design and implement LLM-enabled features using Claude API / Azure OpenAI; consider cost-aware usage.
• Create design docs, decision records, and implementation notes; communicate risks early.
• Participate in agile ceremonies; share knowledge and contribute to internal libraries and tooling.
