Job summary

Intact in Vancouver is seeking Data Scientist interns for the Winter 2027 term. You will join a diverse Digital, Data and Tech team and gain hands-on experience building analytics and ML solutions that impact real business decisions.

This 35-hour-per-week internship offers a hybrid work model, collaboration with experts, and access to cutting-edge learning platforms. Applicants must be enrolled as students and eligible to work in Canada; applications are open now through September 25, 2026.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in AI/data science or related field.
• Available to work full-time 35 hours/week for Winter 2027 term, in hybrid mode.
• Must be an active student during internship and/or returning to school in Summer/Fall 2027.
• No Canadian work experience required, but eligible to work in Canada.
• Previous internship or work in data science/AI/ML is an asset.
• Strong curiosity, problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication with self-reliant ownership mindset.
• Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning.

• Work with geomatics/geospatial, time-series, text, and image data; link patterns to decisions.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders with narratives and visuals.

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. We are looking for Data Scientist interns f or our growing team!

What you'll do here:

• Translate complex , multi-source datasets into clear , business- ready insights, recommendations , and measurable impact.
• Build production- quality analytical and ML code (Python), using modern libraries and best practices (testing, version control, reproducibility ) to deliver robust technical outcomes .
• Contribute to applied research and development that advances AI- enabled products - prototyping , experimenting , and validating approaches that solve real business problems .
• Explore and evaluate cutting-edge methods across the fast- evolving AI landscape (e.g., machine learning , deep learning , NLP, computer vision, geospatial analytics ), and translate promising ideas into practical solutions.
• Work hands-on with diverse data modalities - geomatics / geospatial , telematics /time- series , text , and images - linking patterns in the data to operational and strategic business decisions .
• Communicate findings to both technical and non- technical stakeholders through concise narratives, visualizations , and well-documented deliverables that support product and business roadmaps.

What you bring to the table:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a field related to artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or any other related field .
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 202 7 Term in hybrid mode ( January to April ) .
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship .
• No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada .
• Previous internship or work experience in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or deep learning is an asset.
• Strong curiosity, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with a self-reliant and strong-ownership mindset .
• Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning.
