Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation is seeking Data Scientist interns for the Winter 2027 term in a hybrid environment in Toronto, Ontario. You will work 35 hours per week while gaining hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and NLP/LLM, transforming data into actionable insights across varied data types.

The role targets current students pursuing a degree in data science or related fields, with opportunities to learn on cutting-edge platforms and collaborate with a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a field related to data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or any other related field.
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term in hybrid mode (January to April).
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship.
• No Canadian work experience required, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Previous internship or work experience in data science, machine learning, or deep learning is an asset; experience in a financial services company is also an asset.
• Strong curiosity, analytical abilities, and problem‑solving skills, with a passion for technology.
• Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
• Self-reliant, with a strong sense of responsibility.
