Job summary

Trane Supply is seeking a Product Application Engineer for Building Automation in Canada. The role focuses on designing, testing, and supporting hardware and IoT solutions to enable advanced building management systems.

The candidate will work closely with hardware, software, and services teams to ensure deployments meet client specifications. Required 5–8 years in building automation and HVAC control, with Linux, Python, and cloud experience.

Qualifications

Diploma in mechanical, electrical, or building environments engineering technology or equivalent trade/field experience.
5-8 years of building automation and HVAC control experience, IoT domain preferred.
Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with BMS software, programming, and hardware (Distech, Schneider Electric, Delta Controls, etc.).
Knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical, refrigeration, and building operations.
Experience with commissioning building HVAC automation controls and systems.
Experience with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks protocols.
Strong Unix/Linux OS and scripting skills.
Strong IT and networking understanding; documentation and collaboration skills.
Hands-on electronics experience and control panels wiring.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test control programs and sequences for IoT devices and control systems.
Remotely implement, support, troubleshoot, test, and commission IoT devices, HVAC control, lighting, and refrigeration systems.
Collaborate with development and algorithm teams to integrate with control systems IoT devices.
Perform analytical testing (QA/QC) for new product validation, stability, and release.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and IoT devices.
Stay updated with latest IoT technologies and control systems.
Enhance documentation of test procedures and results, step-by-step guides, product reviews.
