Job summary

Steinbachonline is seeking an Agronomy Student (Seasonal) for the Agronomy Centre. Under the supervision of an Agrologist, you will assist with customer service to Agronomy clients and support invoicing and in-office purchases, transportation documents, and on-farm deliveries.

You may be involved in inspecting fields, recording weeds and pests, aiding data collection and field trials, and preparing field tours.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a university degree, college diploma or certificate in AgriBusiness or Agriculture (Science).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Seasonal hours May–December 2027 and safety policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to Agronomy clients under supervision of an Agrologist.
• Assist with invoicing and in-office purchases, and prepare transportation documents.
• Provide on-farm deliveries in a half-ton truck and load/unload chemicals in the warehouse.
• Inspect producers’ fields and record weeds, insects, and diseases for farmer decisions.
• Assist with field trials, data collection and field tour preparations.

Agronomy Student (Seasonal Student) - Agronomy Centre

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of an Agrologist you will provide customer service to Agronomy clients and assist Agronomists with invoicing and in-office purchases. You will prepare transportation documents and provide on-farm deliveries in a half-ton truck; Loading and unloading chemical in the warehouse. You will be provided with equipment such as a vehicle and cell phone to help you do your job. You may be involved in inspecting producer’s fields, recording weed, insects and diseases to be provided back to the farmer, to help them make informed and timely field crop decisions. You may also assist with field trials, data collection and field tour preparations. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Successful applicants will be working toward a university degree, college diploma or certificate preferably in AgriBusiness or Agriculture (Science). Must have positive attitude, enthusiasm for agriculture and the ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions. Farm background would be an asset. You will need a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Applicants may be considered for the Student Development Program which provides summer employment while completing education and placement in the Co-op Retailing System following successful completion of degree or diploma. seasonal hours approximately May – December 2027.
