Job summary

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee based in Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Alberta. The role focuses on developing leadership, operational understanding, and communication skills through mentorship, on‑the‑job training, and e‑learning.

The program targets candidates with grain handling experience who can manage inventory, shipping, and quality control while preparing to assume a full Operations Manager position.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience participating in the operation of a grain elevator and progressive responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of the grain industry including grading, elevator equipment and processes, and effective product storage.
• Practical experience in mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Proficient computer skills with an aptitude for learning and adapting to new software.

Responsibilities

• Support development as an Operations Manager through hands-on training and mentorship.
• Oversee inventory management, shipping, receiving, and logistics.
• Maintain facilities and equipment, ensuring safety and quality controls.
• Assist in grain procurement and customer service activities.
• Engage in risk management, compliance, and health and food safety workflows.
