Job summary

Huron Tractor Ltd. is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair, and service fertilizer and farming machinery across Southern Ontario locations.

You will work under the Service Manager, diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and advising customers on maintenance needs. The ideal candidate holds a Journeyman license (425A, 310T, or 310S) and has 3–5 years of field experience with strong technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Journeyman license in Ag Tech (425A), or equivalent preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as a licensed journeyman required.
• Agricultural experience is an asset.
• Strong product/technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfort with diagnostic software and computers required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all farming equipment per specifications.
• Inspect and test equipment, diagnose faults, repair and adjust units.
• Complete reports detailing problems and work performed.
• Deliver excellent customer service and work well in a team.

Job Responsibilities

This position reports to the Service Manager and is responsible to diagnose and repair all used and new farming equipment by executing the following responsibilities:

• Inspect and test equipment, diagnosing faults and malfunctions, repair and replace mechanical units, test and adjust units to specifications
• Perform scheduled maintenance service, advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
• Deliver excellent customer service and work well in a team environment

Skills And Qualifications

• Currently holds a Journeyman license in Ag Tech (425A), Heavy Equipment (310T) or Automotive (310S)
• Has 3 – 5 years of experience as a licensed journeyman
• Agricultural experience would be an asset
• Strong degree of product and technical knowledge
• Ability to utilize and learn new technology, computer proficient – internet, diagnostic programs/computers, etc.
• Valid driver's license
• Flexible to work schedule and extended hours

Wage Range

• $34 - $40 per hour
• Placement within the wage range is based on the skills, experience, and qualifications listed above
• Applicants with more or less experience and qualifications may be placed outside the salary range
