Job Description:

CUSTOMER

  • Performs training (e.g., towards IT & business leadership, or for Product Owners/Leads) for agile teams, Delivery Leadership and Executives
  • Observes and guides agile Teams throughout the organization and through all phases of the TD Scaled Agile lifecycle
  • Attends key ceremonies, reviews and interviews practitioners to check practices against the standard agile framework
  • Identifies potential steps for team members to accelerate and reach the next level of capability
  • Responds to inquiries from stakeholders at all levels in the organization (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management) and addresses/escalates concerns (e.g., Agile@Scale Practice)
  • Provides advice and guidance to stakeholders (e.g., IT, Business and Control functions and agile project teams), as required regarding agile best practices
  • Develop and support coaching plans for agile teams, as well as team members
  • Supports and develops the Scrum Masters to enhance their effectiveness and capability
  • Supports team members to ensure they have the ability / agile competencies to complete key activities required for agile delivery, including roadmap and story map development and how those activities translate to traditional approaches such as functional decomposition and architectural alignment

SHAREHOLDER

  • Adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to activities for our business area
  • Ensures respective policies/practices are well executed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
  • Facilitates work execution that is aligned to established cost, timing, deliverable and scope objectives
  • Adheres to enterprise governance to ensure that deliverables meet all the performance, quality and compliance standards and follow the approved methodology
  • Works directly with key stakeholders to remove impediments and help manage cross- team dependencies
  • Collaborates with Product Owner(s), Technology Lead(s) and Team(s) on Sprint planning, impediment removal, and Team execution
  • Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • Protects the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary

EMPOLOYEE / TEAM

  • Participates fully as a member of the agile team (e.g., Product Group, Product Family), supports a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
  • Provides thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for agile execution and participates in capability building for the team and business unit
  • Keeps current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, and agile related tools / techniques
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team
  • Keeps others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of committed work and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
  • Contributes to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.
  • Leads, motivates and develops relationships with internal and external Agile teams to develop productive working relationships
  • Contributes to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for the bank, both internally and/or externally

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Experienced Agile Coach requires comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories or techniques in agile approaches
  • Focus is on coaching and training leadership and assisting Scrum Masters and agile teams
  • Ability to provide guidance and oversight to multiple teams, growing capability across the organization
  • In-depth expertise in agile to interpret internal and external obstacles and recommend best practices
  • Helps Scrum Masters resolve problems, and identify innovative solutions
  • Offers advice and guidance for delivery teams on how to transition to and operate in scaled delivery environments
  • Coaches other teams & leads teams to drive agile adoption
  • Generally reports to Practice Area Lead or Practice Lead and contributes directly to assigned Journey or Platform

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Post-secondary education
  • Certified Scrum Master and/or Certified Scrum Master in scaled Agile framework (e.g., SAFE) and 5+ years of Scrum Master experience
  • Typically requires 7+ years of Agile experience
