Job summary

Compass Early Learning and Care (CELC) seeks a School Age Educator to join our after-school program in Minden. You will work 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3 pm–6 pm, with potential to pick up more hours during PA days and school holidays in full-day programs.

You will engage with children, families, and colleagues to foster growth and curiosity. Ideal candidates bring 1–3 years’ experience, knowledge of ECE standards, and current certs (First Aid, CPR) with a valid vulnerable sector

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience working with children and youth.
• Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
• Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and up-to-date immunization records.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or pursuing an ECE diploma.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities reflecting children’s interests.
• Maintain active supervision while engaging in play and learning.
• Document learning progress through observation and reflection.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy environment for children.
• Assist with diapering, dressing, and eating habits as needed.
• Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in learning.
• Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners.
• Participate in team meetings and staff training; assist with program duties.
