Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton is seeking an After School Educator to support children and families with developmentally appropriate, engaging activities after school. You’ll help with snacks, supervision, and safety, while collaborating with a friendly team to create a welcoming environment.
The role emphasizes program planning for JK/SK and school-aged children, strong communication and teamwork, and flexibility to cover varying duties as part of a nurturing childcare setting.
For over 35 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has been dedicated to offering high-quality programs for young children and their families. We operate full-day early learning and childcare centres for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school extended-day programs for kindergarten and school-aged children at over 27 locations across the Greater Hamilton Area.

Location: South MeadowCentre; 23 Royce Ave, Stoney Creek, ON L8G 3B2
Total Weekly Hours: 20.25 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:15pm - 6:00pm
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement, includes wage grants):
As an After School Educator, your primary responsibility is to be present for children and their families while developing and implementing programs that meet their developmental needs and interests. You will create meaningful play experiences, provide healthy snacks, supervise outdoor and indoor activities, and ensure the safety and well‑being of children in your care.
Duties vary by centre, but your role always includes supporting children, assisting colleagues, and contributing to a welcoming and well‑organized environment.
