Job summary

La Tablée des Chefs seeks a chef-instructor/consultant for The Culinary Brigades to lead weekly cooking workshops for teens (12–17) across Canada. You’ll teach basic techniques using provided materials, prepare recipes, and manage workshop logistics.

The assignment lasts 24 weeks with after-school scheduling, about 4–5 hours per week, and a fee of $125 per workshop. A criminal record check is required; transportation is recommended.

Qualifications

  • Be passionate about food and cooking.
  • Skilled in group facilitation and teaching.
  • Comfortable working with teenagers (12 to 17 years old).
  • Autonomous, organized, and responsible in carrying out the mandate.
  • Having completed a DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in cooking, nutrition training, or equivalent is an asset.
  • Having experience in facilitation or education is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Offer a weekly cooking workshop (lasting 2 to 2.5 hours) as part of the mandate.
  • Teach participants basic cooking techniques and guide them in preparing the recipes.
  • Deliver each workshop using the teaching materials provided by La Tablée des Chefs and ensure you are fully familiar with the workshop content beforehand.
  • Purchase the ingredients needed for the workshop recipes (within the authorized budget).
  • Collaborate with the beneficiary organization to coordinate the culinary challenges.
  • Provide the required administrative documentation for the mandate (e.g., invoices, evaluation questionnaires).
