SOGECLAIR Group is seeking a mechanical designer to join our Boucherville team. The incumbent will design and 3D model parts and assemblies, and create 2D drawings in compliance with client or MSB drawing standards.

Responsibilities include feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project planning, with potential to lead projects. Fluent French/English and Catia V5 proficiency are essential for collaborating with clients.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical or aerospace engineering role.
• Diploma in engineering.
• Experience in the manufacturing of aerospace mechanical products (an asset).
• Mandatory proficiency in Catia V5.
• Bilingual (French and English, spoken and written) for client communication (≈50% of the time).
• Innovative and focused on continuous improvement.
• Hands-on, practical, resourceful personality.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and assemblies.
• Good knowledge of material properties and their applications.
• Understanding of load distribution within systems and design considerations.
• Strong priority management, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies related to design, operation, and performance of parts, mechanisms, and systems.
• Develop innovative new products meeting customer expectations while controlling cost, reliability, and performance targets.
• Obtain necessary standards and regulatory documentation for R&D activities.
• Participate in project planning and may lead projects.
• Prepare cost and schedule estimates, technical reports, and design specifications.
• Design parts and systems.
• Generate drawing information and specifications to support assembly while meeting cost, quality, and reliability requirements.
• Prepare contractual documents and evaluate bids or proposals.
• Supervise technicians and other designers/engineers and review designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Optimize designs to ensure system competitiveness and align with industry best practices.
