Job summary

SOGECLAIR Montreal is seeking an experienced aerospace engineer to lead the design and review of aircraft structural concepts, 3D models, and detail drawings. You will define metallic/composite parts, interfaces, and tolerances, ensuring manufacturability and performance within cost constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant aircraft design/engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structural design, metallic/composite structures, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and GD&T.
• Experience with 3D definition, technical drawings, manufacturability, assembly, and inspection.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, aerospace standards, certification, and configuration management.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and ENOVIA; NX and Teamcenter are a plus.
• Good understanding of PLM processes and engineering change management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• English proficiency required; French is an asset.

• Manage design changes and maintain configuration data within the PLM environment.
• Take ownership of work packages, coordinate deliverables, and propose solutions to complex issues.
• Review peers’ work and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

YOUR PROFILE IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR SUCCESS

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline. A technical diploma may be considered based on relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aircraft design or engineering.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structural design, including metallic and composite structures, joints, fasteners, tolerancing, and GD&T.
• Experience with 3D definition, technical drawings, manufacturability, assembly, and inspection.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, aerospace design standards, certification, and configuration management.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and ENOVIA; knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
• Good understanding of PLM processes, engineering change management, and product definition.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to coordinate priorities, take technical ownership, and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
• English proficiency required; French is an asset.
