Job summary

Bombardier in Dorval, QC is seeking an experienced manufacturing/aerospace engineer to join our team. You will contribute to new product development and work across design, manufacturing and supply chain to deliver optimized aircraft modules.

We value collaboration, analytical thinking and a proactive approach. A hybrid work model is supported, with emphasis on delivering high quality results and advancing industrialization initiatives within the aerospace sector.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience.
• Degree in manufacturing/aeronautical engineering or equivalent.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes.
• New product development experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in New Product Development at a Platform level.
• Support Aircraft Design activities through BES Phases and champion design for manufacturing and cost requirements.
• Be part of an experienced multi-disciplined team to support the project requirements.
• Prepare and participate in feasibility of technical trade studies.
• Develop the manufacturing strategy with Supply Chain and Industrialization.
• Work closely with Advanced Design to study and optimize aircraft configurations.
• Define and develop final assembly methodology and integration.
• Review Supplier activities to ensure compliance to BA requirements and Design methodologies.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Participate in New Product Development activities at a Platform level.
• Support Aircraft Design activities through the BES Phases and champion design for manufacturing and design for cost requirements.
• Be part of an experienced multi-disciplined team to support the project requirements.
• Participate and compile information for operational business case proposals.
• Work collaboratively with Supply Chain and Industrialization to develop the optimal manufacturing strategy that supports the long term company objectives.
• Work Closely with Advanced Design to study and optimize aircraft configurations.
• Prepare and participate in feasibility of technical trade studies.
• Generate Condition of Supply for major interfaces between Structural / Systems Suppliers.
• Participate in advanced manufacturing initiatives that support New Product Development.
• Evaluate and propose best manufacturing and assembly technologies.
• Define and develop final assembly methodology and integration.
• Review Supplier activities to ensure compliance to BA requirements and Design methodologies and rules.
• Produce, refine and document all Product Development Manufacturing Deliverables.
• Establish risk management matrix and mitigation plan.
• Perform problem solving, establish recovery plans to meet deadlines.
• Participate in governance and visibility for achieving projects goals: content, scope of work, costs, risks.
• Provide visibility to management as needed.

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a university degree in Manufacturing / Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent College degree in Aircraft Manufacturing.
• You have 7+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing; plus knowledge in varied aircraft manufacturing disciplines and integration.
• New product development experience is an asset.
• You are a technical individual who can effectively collaborate with other functions to achieve the project’s desired results.
• You have an innovative midset with a technical apititude to address complex problems.
• You have knowledge in the engineering and manufacturing processes of the aerospace industry.
• You are result-driven, and enthusiastic with strong work ethic.
• You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You have strong communication skills and can easily tailor your communication to suit the audience. You strive for harmonious cohesive teamwork.
• You have knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
