Job Title - Test Cell Mechanic/Technician

As aTest Cell Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for operating/testing gas turbine engines with specialized mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems.

What you’ll do:
  • Rig engines for test, testing, derigging of engines and preparing completed engines for shipping to customers
  • Train to become a certified test cell operator. Responsibilities include performing certification testing IAW O/H manual. Troubleshooting engine failures, replacing failed components, and completion of test documentation
  • Working as a motivated member of a specialized team to operate the test cell and the engine under test in accordance with the test instructions or tech orders.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and cross train on multiple engine lines and other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements
  • Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
  • Working within quality, environmental and health and safety management systems to deliver a high quality product in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Complete daily maintenance inspections of equipment and facility to ensure operational readiness prior to use
  • Working with specialized mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems to test gas turbine engines.
  • Troubleshoots, adjusts or replace components on engines and accessories during testing process. Liaisons with engineers, mechanics and inspectors on test performance.
  • Performing and supporting troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes.
  • Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements.
  • Complete relevant paperwork to ensure accuracy
  • Observe all applicable safety practices and aviation regulations
Basic Qualification:
  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in aviation maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO) of aircraft or aircraft engines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, adapt to changing work environments, and contribute to achieving team goals, as evidenced by prior performance or project outcomes.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience performing maintenance, repair, or overhaul of gas turbine engines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and blueprints, demonstrated by successful completion of maintenance projects or certifications.
  • Proven mechanical ability and problem-solving skills, measurable by successful completion of diagnostic, repair, or assembly tasks in prior roles.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted for up to 25% of the workday and stand or sit for up to 8 hours per day, supported by medical clearance or documented work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning maintenance tasks, managing workflow, and meeting deadlines, measurable via past project completion or supervisory feedback.
  • Evidence of effective oral and written communication, measurable through prior work reports, documentation, or team evaluations.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a mechanical or industrial environment, performing tasks such as assembly, troubleshooting, or equipment repair.
Desired Skills:
  • Product knowledge relative to the business unit.
  • Working knowledge of related company instructions and company processes.
  • Knowledgeable in the functional operation of the engines tested.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems and other related control systems.
