Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Advisor Support Associate to join the Advisor Compensation & Support Services team in Mississauga. You will process MFDA and IIROC updates, respond to advisor requests, and manage payout and rep code changes with attention to documentation and timelines.

The role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to coordinate across internal departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business preferred.
  • 3–5 years of financial industry experience, dealership preferred.
  • IFIC certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Process MFDA and IIROC updates within SLAs.
  • Monitor and respond to advisor requests within SLAs.
  • Ensure documentation for new advisor payout changes and rep code updates.
  • Process advisor resignations/retirements and terminations.
  • Liaise with internal departments to facilitate transfers and advisor updates.
  • Broadcast Non-Financial Updates to Fund Companies and Intermediaries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve errors with Fund Companies; set up required software access.
  • Update internal databases for Unlicensed Assistants.
  • Update rep codes with compliance reviewers for Branch Managers.
  • Complete internal audit requests as required.
  • Work with PMO on new OS releases and testing.
  • Ad-hoc duties/projects as required.

Job description

The Advisor Support Associate is an integral part of the Advisor Compensation & Support Services team, which reports directly to the Associate Manager. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for processing advisor rep codes updates, facilitating MFDA and IIROC book purchases/transitions, as well as interacting with various internal business units, advisors and external fund companies. We are seeking for someone who possesses great organizational skills, is enthusiastic, and can multi-task in our fast-paced environment!

What you will do:
  • Processing for Univeris (MFDA) and MyView (IIROC) accordingly within established SLAs
  • Monitor and respond to requests from advisors, advisor offices/branches and internal business units within established SLAs
  • Ensure all proper documentation and signatures are received for new advisor’s commission payout forms and for any changes to existing rep code(s) (payout grids, banking, contacts, addresses) and related matters
  • Process advisor resignations/retirements and terminations
  • Liaison with several internal departments to facilitate transfer of business requests, advisor updates etc.
  • Update Fund Companies and Intermediaries by broadcasting Non-Financial Updates (NFU) via RightFax and FundServ
  • Liaison with Fund Companies to trouble shoot and resolve errorsSetup and/or maintain access for required internal softwares
  • Update and/or maintain internal databases for Unlicensed Assistants
  • Setup and/or update rep code(s) with compliance reviewers for Branch Managers
  • Complete internal audit requests as required
  • Work with PMO for new operating system releases, testing where required
  • Ad-hoc duties/projects as required

What are the preferred qualifications for an Advisor Support Associate?
  • Undergraduate degree in Business is preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience within the Financial Industry, preferably within a dealership
  • Completion of IFIC is an asset

The base salary for this position is between $45,600 - $68,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
