Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Associate Advisor in Calgary to learn and perform all functions of a financial planner under mentorship, while building strong client relationships and ensuring compliance.

You will use our planning software to develop financial plans and prepare documentation; CSC/IFIC is required, with MFDA/IIROC license and CFP/CIM assets helpful. 2+ years in financial services preferred, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services.
  • Completion of CSC/IFIC required.
  • Mutual Fund (MFDA) or Securities (IIROC) license an asset.
  • Professional accreditation (CFP, CIM, or equivalent) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an exceptional client experience and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Learn and practice our award-winning financial planning process.
  • Use our financial planning software to build and update plans.
  • Prepare required paperwork and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor investment portfolios for suitability.
  • Research products approved for sale through IPC Securities Corporation and IPC Investment Corporation.
  • Collaborate with the Pinnacle team to deliver on goals and train new team members.
  • Create long-term client relationships with a client-centric approach.
  • Leverage technology to enhance client experiences.
  • Adopt a performance-driven compensation mindset.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, drive, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Think critically and use sound judgment when serving clients.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with the Pinnacle team to deliver on team goals, provide coverage and train new team members
  • Relationship-building skills with a commitment to establishing long-term client relationships

What You Will Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Business or a relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working within the financial services industry
  • Completion of CSC/IFIC required
  • Mutual Fund (MFDA) or Securities (IIROC) license an asset
  • Professional accreditation (CFP, CIM, or equivalent) is considered an asset

The base salary for this position is between $59,800 - $99,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
