The opportunity

The Advisor, Human Resources plays a hands-on role in delivering local HR support to employees and managers across the corporate office. You will act as a trusted advisor in all areas of human resources, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, organizational development, and process improvement.

The role

  • Develop strong business relationships and work closely with managers to fully understand their needs, challenges, and business realities in order to develop a customized talent attraction and assessment strategy.
  • Support managers in handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching conversations.
  • Participate in the implementation of expected organizational changes to promote individual and team performance.
  • Advise, support, and coach managers and employees in the interpretation and application of policies, programs, and various labor and other applicable laws.
  • Ensure the processing and follow-up of activities related to the employee lifecycle at the Montreal head office.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating HR-related events and activities at Head Office to increase employee engagement.
  • Plan and conduct a rigorous talent acquisition process to deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Participate in onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle process optimization.
  • Assist the Director, HR, in the implementation and improvement of HR programs for head office.

In partnership with the Global Organizational Development team:

Support, plan, and implement key Talent Management initiatives for the Head Office, such as:

  • Performance management cycle processes.
  • Succession planning process.
  • Leadership development programs - facilitate local learning programs (in-person, virtual).
  • Employee Engagement initiatives - support the engagement survey initiative and local action plans.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in a generalist HR position, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.
  • CRHA designation is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation in Québec, coaching managers, and managing sensitive files.
  • Experience in employee relations and HR policy application.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships with employees and managers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion, in virtual and hybrid environments.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit, high accountability, and proactiveness.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in a language other than French (mainly English) to support markets outside Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French.
