Job summary

Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority Inc. is seeking an Advisor, Entrepreneurship to support entrepreneurs through the SK Startup Institute. You will deliver one-on-one advising, help startups access programs, funding and resources, and conduct market research to inform decisions.

As a representative at events and with partners, you’ll build relationships, stay current on trends, and contribute to program improvements and reporting. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one business advising, guidance and strategic support to entrepreneurs in ideation and startup phase.
  • Connect entrepreneurs with programs, services, funding opportunities and resources.
  • Conduct and interpret market, industry and competitive research.
  • Educate entrepreneurs through online and in-person presentations and workshops.
  • Represent SK Startup Institute at events and industry gatherings.
  • Build relationships with entrepreneurs, partners and stakeholders.
  • Stay current on regional, national and global business trends and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve programs and client experience.
  • Maintain client records and contribute to reporting and outcomes.
  • Contribute to special projects, event planning and outreach.
  • Travel throughout Saskatchewan as needed.

SREDA is seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Advisor, Entrepreneurship. Under the direction of the Director of Entrepreneurship this individual will assist in delivering services to entrepreneurs who require support through SREDAs entrepreneurship program, SK Startup Institute.

The Advisor, Entrepreneurship is responsible for the following:

  • Provide one-on-one business advising, guidance and strategic support to entrepreneurs primarily in the ideation and startup phase.
  • Connect entrepreneurs with relevant programs, services, funding opportunities, regulations and other resources to support their business goals
  • Conduct and interpret market, industry and competitive research from a variety of databases and sources to support informed business decisions.
  • Inspire and educate entrepreneurs through engaging online and in-person presentations, workshops and other learning opportunities
  • Represent SK Startup Institute across Saskatchewan by actively participating in networking events, community activities and industry gatherings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, partners and stakeholders through the promotion of entrepreneurship and the organizations programs and services
  • Understand and stay current on business trends at the regional, national and global levels; municipal, provincial and federal regulations; and the evolving needs of Saskatchewans entrepreneurial ecosystem
  • Identify opportunities to improve programs, processes and the client experience through innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program reporting and outcome measurement.
  • Contribute to special projects and organizational initiatives, which may include event planning and coordination, program development, presentation and workshop scheduling, outreach activities and other initiatives as needed
  • Travel throughout Saskatchewan on an as-needed basis
