Job summary

Magna International in Penetanguishene, Ontario is seeking an Advanced Quality Specialist to lead PPAP/APQP activities for new programs. You will coordinate internal and supplier reviews, support pre-production builds, and drive 8D problem solving to ensure launch quality.

Qualifications

Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.**Job Responsibilities:****Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000**## ## **Responsibilities**Lead, participate in, and approve Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) supporting program timing • Ensure all APQP requirements are tracked and met using planned milestones • Review required government approvals and develop inspection standards where applicable • Lead plant trials for engineering changes, tool moves, and new program launches • Lead problem-solving for launch quality concerns (pre-SOP), including 8D, 7-Step, 5-Phase, Is/Is Not, and 6-Panel methods • Participate in warranty reviews where applicable • Manage new model launch (pre-SOP) field support to ensure effective containment and timely issue closureCoordinate and participate in internal and supplier drawing reviews • Prepare and maintain control plans in accordance with MQS 7 • Develop receiving inspection matrices and instructions • Develop Product Validation (PV) plans including reliability and confidence requirements • Implement safe launch plans for new programs • Participate in PFMEA reviews and sign-offs • Verify BOM accuracy during program launches • Facilitate supplier deviation requests through closure • Coordinate early supplier involvement with design and purchasing • Ensure adherence to Platform Execution Process (PEP) requirements • Prepare and present Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) • Establish and approve supplier PPAP timing prior to PV testing • Support pre-production builds• Conduct PV test fixture verification and setup reviews • Ensure appropriate test parts are built and delivered to test labs • Review in-process testing and post-test results • Lead Test Incident Report (TIR) investigations and 8D responses • Conduct annual validation testing as required by customersOther duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate**Qualifications and Skills:**• Completion of community college diploma/certificate.• 3 to less than 5 years of work related experience.• Completion of a post-secondary education program in mechanical/quality engineering• ASQC certification as a quality engineer (CQE) preferred• Tier I automotive experience preferred**Site Benefits:*** A great work experience with a diverse and dedicated workforce* A strong focus on safety and health and wellness (fitness membership discounts)* Five and a half (5.5.) paid floater days* Competitive extended health benefits* Group RRSP matching program* Profit Sharing Plan* Education Reimbursement Program* Continuous Improvement and Development Culture## **Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:**At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
