Job Duties
Foster a positive learning environment for learners of diverse socio, economic and cultural backgrounds
Facilitate the process of planning, work and growth for learners
Select, adapt and create appropriate learning materials and resources
Communicate effectively with learners and colleagues
Develop strategies for teaching each learner
Use methods, tools and procedures appropriate for assessment and evaluation
Self-evaluate professional needs, knowledge and skills, and participate in professional development
Complete program reports as required including record keeping and composing correspondence
Assess and respond to learners’ needs for referral, intake, and ongoing evaluation
Work in partnership with LBS community and Employment Service Network to intake, assess, refer
Document intake and assessment as well as ongoing and exit assessments
Provide informal counseling to clients

Requirements
College Diploma in Adult Education, Social Service Worker or equivalent
Teaching/tutoring experience and/or demonstrated understanding and application of the principles of adult education
Strong assessment and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task, be flexible and to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
Demonstrate effective problem solving ability
Able to take initiative and work as part of a team
