Alberta Precision Labs is seeking an Administrative Support I to join the Pre & Post Analytics team at the Diagnostic Scientific Centre. You will handle incoming specimens, validate requisitions, and maintain clean equipment while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
This is a full-time on-site role with evening shifts, requiring physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push up to 200 lbs carts. Hours are 1100-1915, Wednesday to Sunday, with potential schedule changes based on workload.

As an Administrative Support I (ASI), you are the first point of contact for specimens arriving at our DSC Hub Lab. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll receive and transport specimens between floors using carts and dumbwaiters; check empty transport containers, replenish supplies, and prepare containers for distribution back to sending sites; scan and validate requisitions into our electronic system; perform daily quality checks and maintain equipment and materials cleanliness. Collaborate with your team to deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients. Uphold confidentiality and follow safety protocols at every step. To be successful in this role you can stand and walk for extended periods and frequently push/pull carts weighing up to 200lbs; be comfortable lifting specimen containers up to 40lbs throughout your shift; have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, initiative to address issues proactively and be a team player who values accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.Important Information: Hours of work are 1100-1915 Wednesday to SundayAs workload demands and operational requirements shift, the location, dates and/or hours of work may be changed.
As an Administrative Support I, you will require administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic computer and keyboarding skills.Previous experience with heavy materials distribution including lifting (>40lbs) and maneuvering large rolling carts (>200lbs).Able to walk and stand for long periods, and regularly reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to 40lbsFirst Aid/CPR (required to complete after hiring).
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with logistics tracking systems.Effective verbal and written communication skills.High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.Previous LIS document scanning and filing experience.
