Job summary

Safran is hiring at the Mirabel, QC plant for a precision grinder role in aerospace components. You will grind attachment points on main landing gear parts using air-powered hand tools or semi-automatic equipment, following drawings and tolerances.

You must read blueprints, measure with calipers and micrometers, and document quality checks. Night shift is from 12:10 AM to 6:40 AM, with opportunities for skills development and safety-first culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required (DES) with DEP adjustment.
  • Experience with manual tools in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience in manual grinding or assembly in aerospace is an asset.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measuring instruments (calipers and micrometers).
  • Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and precision are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts using measuring instruments to ensure specifications.
  • Machine using a lathe and install the rings.
  • Apply sealant.
  • Complete the appropriate Quality Assurance documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operations focusing on safety, quality, costs, and on-time deliveries.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major components of landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

You will perform, using air-powered hand tools or semi-automatic equipment, the grinding of attachment points of main landing gear components according to specifications. This operation requires a high level of precision to create the exact dimensions of the rings that will be installed to accommodate other mechanical parts.

Night shift: from 12:10 AM to 6:40 AM

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (day, evening, or weekend)

  • The salary for this position starts between $29.52 and $39.73 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring job-related skills, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $45.12.
  • $1/hour bonus
