Job summary

Weyburn Community Health Services Building in Weyburn seeks a Pay Band Addictions Counsellor with a Mental Health & Addictions Counselling Diploma to deliver information sessions and counseling. You will assess client needs, plan recovery goals and work within an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and harm-reduction strategies.

The role includes 14 shifts of 8 hours over 3 weeks, days only, in a full-time temporary capacity.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mental Health & Addictions Counselling or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Knowledge of addiction assessment tools and recovery planning.

Responsibilities

Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and / or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities or addiction recovery programs. Responsibilities include providing informational programming as well as individual and group counseling sessions with clients. This position will be expected to assess individual and group needs of clients and implement plans to help clients reach their goals.
