Job summary

Autism Services in Tisdale is seeking an Addictions Counsellor with a degree to join an interdisciplinary team. You will deliver day-to-day client services, perform clinical management, and participate in community education and development.

The position requires a Bachelor degree in Chemical Dependency or equivalent, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to refer clients. Travel may be required, and the role is full-time with a 224-hour rotation over six weeks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Dependency or an employer accepted equivalent.
• Knowledge of addictions specific twelve core functions.
• Knowledge of Developmental Model of Recovery.
• Ability to assess addictions and make appropriate referrals.
• Ability to assess addictions and/or addiction related issues.
• Ability to assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Sask Model of Recovery Services and motivational assessment process.

Job description:
As a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general direction of the Manager or Addiction Counsellor Degree Senior, is responsible for the day-to-day client services delivery (development, implementation, deliver and assists with evaluation) of Addiction Services. Performs clinical management, community education, and community development.
