Job summary

Sault Area Hospital in Canada is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Acute Medicine Surge 1B, full-time position. You will deliver patient care using the nursing process, assess needs, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes on a medical unit.

You will provide health teaching to patients and families, make clinical decisions within available resources, and align practice with the hospital mission and geriatric care principles.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current certification in venipuncture (IV certification).
• Niche, Pieces or other similar geriatric nursing certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide health teaching to patient and family.
• Make clinical decisions to ensure best possible nursing care within resources.
• Reflect Hospital Mission Statements and Nursing Philosophy in practice.
• Engage in theory-based nursing care and contribute to unit objectives.
