Job summary

CAMH is seeking a full-time, temporary Registered Practical Nurse for the Geriatric Admission Unit A in Toronto. You will provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care, ensuring safety and adherence to CNO standards within an inter-professional team.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, and education for students, with emphasis on geriatric psychiatry and addiction issues; 12-hour shifts and weekend work at Queen Street site.

Qualifications

• You must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR).
• The successful candidate must have medication administration certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable Nurse-Client relationship within a collaborative team.
• Preference for knowledge of psychiatric nursing, geriatrics, and addiction issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the primary nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care for older individuals with mental health and addiction issues.
• Provide education support and supervision to students as part of an inter‑professional team.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of crisis intervention, geriatric psychiatry, and safety protocols; document and communicate with team.
