Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 8W Acute Medical Unit at the Wilson site. This temporary part-time role offers rotating day/night/evening/weekend shifts with a competitive hourly rate.

The successful candidate will provide nursing care across medical units, coordinate care with the team, and participate in patient assessment and documentation using computerized systems.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BCLS certification or demonstrated competency.
• 2 years of recent medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.

Responsibilities

• RN responsibilities for general medicine, geriatric, ALC, palliative inpatients, geriatrics, neurology, medicine, and hip fracture patients.
• Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
• Assessment of pain management.
• Utilization of computerized systems for patient care documentation.
• Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
• Resource/team leader responsibilities.
• Preceptorship of nursing students.
