Job summary

Humber River Health, Wilson Site, is seeking an RN for a full-time Inpatient Cardiology Unit role. You will provide care for acutely ill cardio-respiratory patients, monitor telemetry, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current RN registration in Ontario, BCLS at hire, and coronary care/telemetry experience or commitment to obtain within specified timeframes. Shifts rotate days, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification (RN's employed by HRH exempted).
• Previous coronary care and telemetry experience preferred.
• 2 years acute medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Coronary Care 1 required or a commitment to obtain within 6 months of starting.
• Excellent patient/family teaching skills and an ability to promote family centered care.
• Strong communication, teamwork and computer skills; willingness to rotate to other departments.

Responsibilities

• Care of acutely ill, cardio-respiratory and medical patients including those with Acute Coronary Syndrome.
• Telemetry monitoring, care planning and coordination with the team.
• Documentation of patient care using computerized systems.
• Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
• Resource/team leader responsibilities.
• Preceptorship of nursing students and new orientees.
