Job summary

Oak Valley Health is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join the Interdisciplinary Health Care Team (IDHCT) for comprehensive patient care across units, including Emergency Department-admitted patients and RCC sites. You will develop care and education plans, lead in clinical practice, and contribute to program development while upholding IPAC standards and organizational values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute medicine nursing experience.
• Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Experience on the LTC environment preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
• Critical thinking and prioritization skills required.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem solve with the team.
• Experience with patient health teaching.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including intramuscular injections, IV therapy initiation and discontinuation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in collaboration with the IDHCT across hospital units.
• Develop and implement patient care plans and education plans.
• Support the Interdisciplinary Health Care Team in program development and patient care initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to IPAC and outbreak protocols and maintain code of conduct.
