Job summary

Oak Valley Health in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse with acute surgical care experience to join our health care team. You will support patient-centered care on the surgical unit, with shifts covering days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Required are CNO registration, Medication Administration certification, BCLS, and recent inpatient surgical experience, along with strong assessment skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Demonstrated practice or completion of the Medication Administration certification.
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support).
• Recent experience caring for inpatient Surgical patients.
• Excellent Physical Assessment skills.
• Well developed organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to health and safety policies and mandatory education.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care to acute surgical patients.
• Demonstrate excellent physical assessment and critical thinking.
• Coordinate care with the health care team and communicate effectively.
• Maintain compliance with hospital health and safety policies and mandatory education.
• Maintain good attendance and be flexible for days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
