Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Minimum one year as an LPN in acute care in the past two years.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an interprofessional health care team.
• Provide safe, high-quality patient and family-centred care.
• Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, unit clerks and health care aides.
• Report to the Unit Manager and work within full scope of practice.
