Manitoba Public Insurance is seeking an Actuarial Analyst I, II, or a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The role involves conducting analyses on rate setting, claims forecasting, and working collaboratively with various departments like Pricing and Underwriting. Successful candidates will have a background in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, and be proficient in advanced analytical skills and tools.
This position also offers opportunities for continuous learning through the Actuarial Development Program and expects participants to engage in ongoing education and examination.
The Actuarial Analyst I / Actuarial Analyst II / Senior Actuarial Analyst conducts analyses on rate setting, reserving, claims and revenue forecasting, stochastic modelling, budget variance, capital modelling and other actuarial analyses on as needed basis. The Actuarial Analyst will also collaborate with staff from other areas such as Pricing, Reinsurance, Valuation, Underwriting, Capital Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Investments, Finance, Actuarial Forecasting and Customer & Product Value to work on joint tasks and projects. The Actuarial Analyst must maintain confidentiality due to the extensive impact throughout the corporation and the public.
The Actuarial Analyst will have access to corporation’s Actuarial Development Program (ADP) and ongoing successful completion of actuarial exams or modules is required to remain in the program. Although the Actuarial Analyst may be recruited into a single area at the onset, they will also have an opportunity to rotate into other actuarial areas in the company.
The Senior Actuarial Analyst is expected to take full ownership of certain tasks and deliverables, communicate results to senior management and mentor actuarial analysts and students.
