Job description

Description

We are a unique practice in the Canadian marketplace specializing in developing new insurance solutions and optimizing existing offerings for Affinity program sponsors. These programs are targeted at large customer or membership bases of clients whose core business is not always insurance (e.g., banks and other financial institutions, retailers, associations, hospitality providers and others). Solutions are positioned to be complementary to the core services or product offerings of these Affinity organizations and the associated strategies that they employ to achieve key objectives of customer/member engagement, optimized customer experience, and revenue and business growth. Through our work, we are constantly challenging the market status quo.

We are seeking an aspiring actuarial analyst to join our multidisciplinary Affinity consulting team, where actuarial analytics play a central role in supporting client strategy, customer engagement and operational excellence. You will be on the front lines of insurance strategy development, product development/enhancement, new business development, and gain exposure to a variety of insurance lines, clients, and unique solutions supporting an ever-evolving marketplace. As an actuarial analyst, you will be a key resource in preparing and reconciling data, developing and maintaining models and supporting consulting engagements across the practice.

The ideal candidate can work well in teams and work independently with appropriate guidance. This includes assisting senior colleagues with projects related to key insurance lines including travel insurance, embedded credit card insurance, personal home & auto insurance, and life and health insurance solutions. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in WTW's study program in pursuit of a professional actuarial designation through a recognized actuarial professional association such as the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) or Society of Actuaries (SOA). This position has a significant upward growth trajectory to support client consulting on a prospective basis.

  • Leverage technical skills to streamline processes, enhance efficiencies, develop innovative approaches to complex actuarial and analytical problems.
  • Assist with client RFP (Request for Proposal) processes by summarizing vendor partnership proposals and providing analytical support for evaluation.
