Base pay range

CA$23.00/hr - CA$28.50/hr

Responsibilities
  • Organize leisure programs and get to know and LISTEN to residents individually, helping to create a community where people know and care for each other.
  • Think creatively to keep activities fresh and engaging, encourage participation in activities and events, and develop backup plans in case an entertainer fails to show.
  • Publish an informative and professional monthly newsletter and leisure calendar on time and drive our 24 passenger bus on outings twice weekly.
  • Possess a passion for working with older people, maintain a sense of humor, and demonstrate positive energy, patience, and a big heart.
  • Have professional event planning experience (two years) with local connections.
  • Experience working with seniors.
  • Set up basic audio visual equipment.
  • Hold a Clean Class 2 or 4 Drivers License with a fundamental understanding of vehicles.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Obtain and organize volunteers (both resident and non-resident volunteers) with two years of experience.
  • Willingness to assist other departments as needed.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher) - candidates will be tested.
  • Artistic talents would be beneficial.

The hours of work are generally Sunday through Thursday, with two early evenings per week required. The hours will vary depending on the events we host. A criminal record check for vulnerable sectors is required.
