Job summary

Caressant Care in Harriston, Ontario is seeking a passionate Activity Aide to join our team. You will plan and lead a range of recreational activities for residents, building detailed programs that support physical, social and emotional well-being.

The role is part-time with hours from 12 pm to 8 pm, offering competitive wages and opportunities for growth within our long-term care homes. The starting pay is $23.68 per hour, and the terms and conditions of employment are as per the Collective

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in recreation/therapeutic recreation or related field (Ontario).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care LTC sector.
• Organizational and leadership abilities.
• Punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in a variety of recreational activities for residents.
• Support residents' physical, emotional and social well-being.
• Collaborate with care team to implement activity programs.
• Document resident participation and progress.

What you bring…

• Hold a post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology, or other related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Knowledge and skills in the Long-Term Care sector LTC
• Organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to work under direction
• Knowledge and skill in a variety of recreational activities
• Punctual and reliable
