Job summary

Caressant Care in Ontario is seeking part-time Recreation/Wellness staff to support residents in our long-term care homes. Hold a post-secondary diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or gerontology.

You will apply interpersonal and communication skills toengage aging residents in a variety of activities; be punctual, reliable, and able to work under direction. Starting pay is $20.76 per hour under the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/certificate in recreation and leisure, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or gerontology from an Ontario institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of aging process and working with aging population.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work under direction.
  • Knowledge of various recreational activities.
  • Punctual and reliable.

What you bring…
  • Hold a post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology, or other related field from an Ontario post-secondary institution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of the aging process and skills required to work with an aging population RH
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under direction
  • Knowledge and skill in a variety of recreational activities

The starting rate of pay is $20.76 per hour, and the terms and conditions of employment are as per the Collective Agreement.
