Job summary

LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is seeking a Clinical Kinesiologist for a full-time role split between our New Westminster and Langley, BC clinics. You will work in person at both locations each week and lead exercise sessions for middle-aged and older adults within a medical fitness setting.

Requirements include a degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science, 3+ years clinical kinesiology experience, CPR/First Aid, and a CSEP-CEP or ACSM CCEP or equivalent plan to earn within six months.

Qualifications

• A degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science.
• Minimum 3 years clinical kinesiology experience.
• Clinical Exercise Physiology certification (CSEP-CEP or ACSM CCEP), or plan to earn within six months of hire.
• Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Direct experience in an exercise setting with clinical populations and older adults.
• Experience with neurological and rehabilitation populations.

Responsibilities

• Keep accurate member records, including medical history, goals, and coaching notes.
• Take resting and exercise blood pressure and heart rate.
• Complete postural and fitness assessments.
• Create and update a program for each member based on their fitness level, function and mobility, goals, and medical history.
• Coach and educate members toward adopting healthy habits.
• Manage symptomatic members appropriately.
• Write consult notes to other health care professionals as required.
• Demonstrate, cue, and correct exercises.

This is one full-time position, with your hours split part-time between our New Westminster and Langley clinics. You'll work in person at both locations each week.

LIVE WELL Exercise Clinic is a medical fitness clinic with 12 locations across Canada, including 9 in BC. We specialize in chronic disease prevention and management, offering personalized exercise, health education, and health coaching in a small-group setting.

We're looking for an experienced Clinical Kinesiologist to lead exercise sessions at our New Westminster and Langley clinics. The right candidate is organized, energetic, and approachable, and enjoys working with middle-aged and older adults.

What You Bring

• A degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Clinical Kinesiologist (not general population work).
• A Clinical Exercise Physiology certification (CSEP-CEP or ACSM CCEP), or demonstrated competency and willingness to self-study to earn it within six months of hire.
• Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Direct experience in an exercise setting with clinical populations and older adults.
• Experience with neurological and rehabilitation populations, including clients living with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and Cerebral Palsy, and clients with mobility or rehabilitation needs. You can adapt exercise programs safely to each person.
• Advanced emergency and first-aid training, such as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) licence or Advanced First Aid Attendant experience. Many of our members are older adults, so this helps you recognize and respond to potential emergencies during sessions.
• A manual therapy background. Hands-on experience with muscles, joints, and movement patterns sharpens your eye for movement dysfunction and muscular imbalances, and helps you explain technique clearly and build trust with members.
• A blended skill set that combines kinesiology, rehabilitation, manual therapy, and emergency-care experience into a practical, member-centred approach.
• Employment type: full-time, split between the New Westminster and Langley clinics
• Pay: $22.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials
• Work location: in person at both our New Westminster and Langley clinics
• Commute: you must reliably commute to both New Westminster and Langley, BC, or plan to relocate before starting.
