Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking an Activation Worker to plan and run daily activation, recreational and social programs for residents across our facilities in the Greater Toronto Area. The role emphasizes resident-centred care and quality of life through engaging activities.

Under the Activation Manager, you will facilitate therapy-based recreation, coordinate with staff, and ensure safe, enjoyable programs while adhering to budgets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent
• Experience in social services or long-term care setting an asset
• Experience in facilitating activation and therapeutic recreation programs
• Creativity in developing meaningful programs within a budget
• Superb customer service skills
• Current CPR certificate
• Current Food Handler Safety certificate
• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily activation, recreational and social programs for residents
• Support residents' quality of life through resident-centred activities
