Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Toronto is seeking an Activation Worker to plan and run daily activation, recreational and social programs for residents. Under the supervision of the Activation Manager, you will create engaging activities that support resident wellbeing and quality of life.

The role requires a recreation or therapeutic background, strong communication in English and Chinese, and the ability to work across shifts in a long-term care setting within the Greater Toronto Area.

Qualifikationen

• Diploma in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent.
• Experience in a social services or long-term care setting (an asset).
• Experience and skills in facilitating activation and therapeutic recreation programs, preferably with geriatric populations.
• Creativity to develop meaningful programs on a tight budget.
• Superb customer service skills.
• Initiative to support clients and team positively and efficiently.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of Chinese word processing (an asset).
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese.
• Physical Demands: Some lifting and transfer.
• Occasional travel within the Greater Toronto Area.
• Use of own Vehicle.
• Must provide recent vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance.

Under the supervision of the Activation Manager, the Activation Worker plans and conducts daily activation, recreational and social programs for residents of the LTC Home that reflects the organization's resident centred approach to improve and maintain the residents' quality of life in the Home.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent.
• Experience in a social services or long-term care setting (an asset).
• Experience and skills in facilitating activation and therapeutic recreation programs, preferably working with the geriatric population.
• Creativity and innovativeness in developing meaningful programs for clients within a tight budget.
• Superb customer service skills.
• Demonstrated initiative to support the clients and team in a positive and efficient manner.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of Chinese word processing (an asset).
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese.

Compensation

Salary Range: $21.97 - $24.51
