Job summary

Regency Long Term Care in Port Hope is seeking an Activity Aide to join our team on a part-time basis. You will help plan and deliver recreational and therapeutic programs that meet residents' physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs.

This role emphasizes engaging residents, building relationships with families and staff, and upholding safety standards while supporting a warm, community-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Community college recreation certificate or diploma, or equivalent education in recreation or activation.
  • Experience working with seniors, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills are an asset.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Energetic, compassionate, and dedicated to improving lives of elderly residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful programs and activities.
  • Promote a supportive, inclusive team environment with the Program Manager and volunteers.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and staff.
  • Participate in developing, assessing, and updating individualized resident care plans through team conferences.
  • Support the maintenance and care of activity department equipment and supplies.
  • Uphold Occupational Health & Safety standards at all times.
  • Attend in-service education sessions to stay current on best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

ACTIVATION AIDE

Position: Activity Aide

Status: Casual (on call)

Location/Home: Regency LTC, Port Hope, ON

Wage: $22.60/ hour

Schedule: Day shift (8am-4pm) and evening shifts (11:30am-7:30pm)

Position Summary
