Peace Hills General Insurance Company is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the Accounting Department in Edmonton, AB. Reporting to the Billing Manager, you will manage accounts receivable processes, respond to customer inquiries, and support month-end activities in a high-volume environment.

You will bring strong data entry, Excel, and communication skills to ensure accurate postings, timely follow-ups, and excellent service for internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; relevant post-secondary education is an asset.
• Experience in accounts receivable and handling high volume customer calls.
• Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Strong data entry and numerical accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to learn new computing software quickly.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Professional, efficient, and proactive with time-management and organizational skills.
• Experience in the insurance industry and with Guidewire software would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts receivable, verify and post payments and refunds.
• Answer high volumes of customer calls about billing matters.
• Resolve issues for internal and external customers.
• Complete system activities within deadlines and follow up.
• Reconcile broker accounts monthly and follow up on discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end journals and account reconciliations.
• Transfer balances between terms and payment plans.
• Assist with monthly commission payable/receivable cycles.
• Liaise with Underwriters regarding payments and policy amendments.
• Communicate with Underwriters and brokers about arrears.
• Deliver exceptional customer service maintaining standards.
• Other duties as required.
