Job description

As one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing Finance team!

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will play a strategic role leading the A/P Team as well as maintaining supplier relationships and supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the A/P team to ensure high performance, accuracy, and efficiency in a high-volume environment.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Receiving, and Inventory teams to ensure accurate 3-way matching and alignment with operational workflows.
• Monitor and manage cash flow related to payables, ensuring alignment with company goals and payment terms.
• Review and approve invoices, payment batches, and reconciliations.
• Monitor the preparation and reconciliation of A/P aging reports, resolving discrepancies and overdue items.
• Support the month-end and year-end processes and financial statements for internal and external audits.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Min. 3 years of relevant A/P experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
• Strong understanding of AP systems, ERP software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment (preferably in distribution or produce/food industry)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in financial record keeping.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
