Job summary

BBA Consultants in Shawinigan, QC is seeking an Accounting Technician for Accounts Payable to join our finance team. You’ll handle supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations under the supervision of the chief accountant, ensuring accurate project and expense coding.

Strong Excel and English/French skills are required; experience with Maconomy or similar ERP is a plus. This regular, on-site role offers growth within a multidisciplinary Canadian firm.

Qualifications

• College diploma or diploma of vocational studies in accounting
• 1–3 years of experience as an accounting technician or accounts payable technician
• Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite, mainly Excel
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Asset: knowledge of an ERP system, such as Maconomy
• Asset: experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency, project-code-structured organization
• Asset: experience in a high-volume transaction environment

Responsibilities

• Enter and approve supplier invoices in the accounting software (ERP) and allocate to projects and expense categories
• Process supplier, intercompany and government payments
• Reconcile, enter and follow up on transactions made using corporate credit cards
• Review, process and pay expense reports
• Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
• Respond to ad-hoc requests regarding accounts payable and expense reports
• Review and optimize the various accounts payable processes, as required
