Accounts Payable & Payroll Support – Film & Media Industry

Location : Toronto, ON (On-site, full-time)

Salary Range : $65K - $70K

A leading Canadian commercial film production group, recognized as one of the largest in the industry, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its growing finance team. This is a full-time, in-office position reporting to the Controller, offering the opportunity to work closely with internal teams across production and business operations.

This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute across both accounts payable and payroll functions.

Primary Responsibilities

Accurately code and enter supplier invoices into proprietary accounting software

Monitor job-specific due dates and prepare cheque runs accordingly

Manage vendor statements, follow up on outstanding invoices, and ensure approvals are obtained

Respond to vendor payment inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner

Prepare quick cheques for production and coordinate bank drafts

Secondary Responsibilities

Provide backup support for crew payroll

Assist in reviewing crew timesheets and preparing payroll submissions

Review edit reports and assist with the issuance of payroll cheques

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable and / or general accounting

Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Background in advertising, production, or related creative industries is an asset

Familiarity with financial calculations and reconciliations
