Job summary

Harris Computer Systems in Canada is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join a finance team dedicated to accurate processing of payables and continuous improvement. You will handle invoices, expenses, and remittances while ensuring proper approvals and tax compliance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and strong communication as you support the finance function and respond to supplier inquiries in a remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a focus on business/accounting or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Great Plains; or similar accounting software (Sage500, Simply Accounting, Sage Accpac) would be an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• English and French (spoken and written) required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable and Expense Transactions.
• Safeguard corporate assets by ensuring all claims are correctly approved for all expenditures.
• Respond to supplier and employee enquiries in a timely manner.
• Process various Expenses, Invoices, and Remittances.
• Own GST/HST and Provincial/State taxes returns and remittances.
• Maintain proper files of supplier invoices and expense reports.
• Assist with document shipping as required.
• Provide support to the Finance team and business unit leadership.

• Learning and working with an experienced Controller.
• Enhancing your Accounting and Finance skills.
• Hands on experience with the full scope of Accounts Payable tasks and responsibilities.

The potential salary range for this role is $40,000 to $45,000 per year, with eligibility for bonus or merit program. Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity.
