Job summary

Weldco-Beales Manufacturing Alberta Ltd. is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support bank reconciliations, journal entries, depreciation, and AP/AR activities. You will interact with business units to resolve discrepancies and assist month-end close.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policy while supporting internal/external audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills with multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Pursuing or holding CPA or similar designation is a plus.
• Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations with proper supporting documentation.
• Prepare and post general journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
• Process fixed asset depreciation on a recurring schedule.
• Assist AP with invoices, vendor inquiries, and payments.
• Assist AR with invoicing, cash application, and collections support.
• Maintain organized documentation for reconciliations and entries.
• Monitor discrepancies and work with units to resolve them.
