Master Flo Valve Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Edmonton, AB team. You will support Controller and Accounting Manager with financial reporting and analysis, interacting with operations and management to drive accurate, timely results.

The role emphasizes month-end close, variance analysis, budgeting, and intercompany activity, with involvement in audits and cost accounting. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with financial, operational and cost reporting and analysis.
• Ability to drive process improvements in accounting workflows.
• Excellent communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
• Experience in energy or manufacturing/assembly industries is beneficial.
• Experience with multi-currency environments and international operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ASPE-compliant recording and reporting of financial information.
• Lead timely month-end close and generate analyzed financial statements.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and journal entries, including intercompany transactions.
• Conduct variance analysis of P&L vs budgets/forecasts with explanations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial and management reports for leadership.
• Support interim and year-end audits with auditors and year-end documentation.
• Assist in budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with operations to provide accounting guidance and cost insight.
• Manage fixed assets and maintain continuity schedules.
• Analyze costs to identify savings and profitability opportunities.
• Provide interpretation of financial trends and link to operations.
