Job description

Vault Mortgage is a non-bank private mortgage lending company. We have a progressive, friendly work environment and a culture of growth. We are looking for a hard-working Accounting Officer to join our dynamic team.

This is a hands-onposition and the individual will be exposed to various aspects of a private mortgage lending company. You will be responsible forworking within a dynamic team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reconciling bank statements and general ledgers
• Compile and distribute daily management reports
• Compliance reportingfor lenders and regulators
• Prepare monthly financial statements and consolidated financial statements
• Prepare ad hoc reporting as requested by management or investors
• Cash receipt entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations
• Internal department queries and problem solving
• Calculate monthly loan payments, verify third partycalculationsand resolve any discrepancies
• Review borrower loan statements
• Other accounting duties that management mayrequire

Skills Knowledge & Experience

• Relevant university degree or college diploma combined with two years of work experience
• Thorough knowledge ofgenerally acceptedaccounting principles, policies and procedures and budgeting methods
• Detail orientated, with excellent organizational and follow up skills
• Ability to produce and manage daily management reporting requirements
• Ability to manage multiple projects,activitiesand tasks simultaneously.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Energetic team player with ability to work independently
• Proficient toadvancedin Excel and proficient in Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of Netsuite and/or Mortgage Automator is an asset
